RotherBridge is the collective name for this group of pages created to support the proposed Bridges and Streams Project.

It is also the name of the site of the former bridge on the road to Chichester, SW from Petworth.
This bridge was demolished c1803 when the new turnpike road crossed the river on a new bridge at Coultershaw.
The material of the old bridge was used in a bridge over a minor meander just north of the site of Petworth Station.

This bridge gave it's name to the river and the hundred - a medieval local government unit.
The language root for Rotherbridge is 'cattleway'.
